Vor kurzem hat unser Freund GM Nikita Meshkovs seinen Juli-Schach-Marathon erfolgreich beendet. Nach seinem 2.Platz beim GM-Turnier in Kiel und seinem starken Ergebnis beim Bundesliga-Finale in Bremen, gewann Nikita das Paleochora Open in Griechenland. Zusammen spielte er 23 Partien in 25 Tagen, darunter 5 Tage mit Doppelrunden.
Wer Nikita gern einmal in seiner Heimat Lettland besuchen will, sollte sich eine Teilnahme am starken RTU Open in Riga vornehmen, wo Nikita ebenfalls wieder auf der Teilnehmerliste steht. Riga und sein Ostsee-Bade-Vorort Jurmala sind im Sommer jedenfalls wunderschön.
