Bei der soeben in Slowenien zu Ende gegangenen Europameisterschaft erlebte das deutsche Schach eine Sternstunde: Matthias Bluebaum ist Europameister 2022!
Für die Mehrzahl unserer Doppelbauern lief das Turnier eher durchwachsen. Ein Highlight aus Kieler Sicht ist jedoch der 4. Platz von Ivan Cheparinov. Während sich viele Spitzenspieler in der Schlußrunde mit einem schnellen remis begnügten und somit ihr Preisgeld und/oder ihre Weltcupqualifikation absicherten, spielte Ivan in der letzten Runde gegen den Franzosen Maxime Lagarde mutig auf Gewinn und stieß noch auf den geteilten 3.Platz vor.
