Seit Einführung der Altersklasse U8 bei der DEM zum Jahr 2022 sind die Regionalen Kinderschachturniere (RKST) fester Bestandteil des Qualifikationswegs zur DJEM U8. Neben dem Turnier am 07. und 08.05 in Kiel, gibt es in Schleswig-Holstein noch ein weiteres derartiges Turnier, nämlich am 30.04 und 01.05 in Elmshorn. Auf keinen Fall sollte man sich dabei von den großen Worten "Qualifikation zur Deutsche Meisterschaft" einschüchtern lassen. Die Turniere sind auch hervorragend als Einstiegsmöglichkeiten für Kinder geeignet, die einfach nur ihre ersten Turniererfahrungen machen wollen.
Regional sind allerdings keine Grenzen gesetzt. Wer bereit ist, sogar noch weiter zu fahren, findet zusätzliche Möglichkeiten und Info´s bei der Deutschen Schachjugend.
