Nach seinem Europameistertitel im September diesen Jahres spielte Anton Demchenko auch bei der Europameisterschaft im Blitzen stark auf. Im Modus 3 Minuten + 2 Sekunden Inkrement landete er auf Rang 3. Unser Neuzugang Pawel Teclaf erreichte einen starken 6. Platz. Jonas Bjerre erreichte mit Platz 16 ebenfalls einen gutes Ergebnis. Viel besser lief es bei ihm im Rapid (15 Minuten + 10 Sekunden Inkrement) mit dem 7 Platz. Mit nur einem halben Buchholz Rückstand wurde der deutsche Alexander Donchenko Vize-Europameister im Schnellschach.
